The Opportunity: 

Seeking an experienced Head of Finance, with construction industry experience, to join a successful construction business and work closely with the company owner.

This will be a hands-on position involving management accounting, financial accounting and strategic planning. 

Seeking someone with a property/construction background. 

There is also an opportunity to become involved with property development. This could include market analysis, strategic planning, finding locations, sourcing funds, legal compliance, planning permissions if that interests you.   

Onsite position with parking available in a Brisbane city fringe suburb. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage the financial operations of the business, including AP, AR, and payroll.  There is one offshore staff member to assist with the transactional work.  
• Process monthly payroll with most staff being permanent employees 
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. 
• Oversee the WIP flow and be involved in project meetings.
• Manage the personal investment allocations. 
• Preparation and reconciliations of financial accounts. 
• Attend monthly company meetings providing financial commentary, trends, financial impacts, profitability and cash flow analysis. 
• Partner with the owner to provide long-term financial strategies. 
• Strengthen financial accounting procedures and systems. 

Your Experience: 

• CA/CPA qualified 
• Positive, adaptable and agile personality 
• Tech-savvy; experience with an ERP system is necessary 
• Must have experience within the construction/property industry 
• Stable work history 
• Experience with property development is highly regarded but not essential
• Strong communicator who enjoys liaising with internal stakeholders at all levels 
• Enjoys being hands on with finance and taking ownership of the entire finance function
