The Opportunity:

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded e-commerce fashion brand with over 10 years of successful trading history. With a team of 90 staff, the business is entering an exciting phase of continued growth and operational refinement.

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function, overseeing and reporting on the overall financial health of the business. The role is both strategic and hands-on, partnering closely with the Founder/Director to drive performance, profitability, and sustainable growth.

You will lead end-to-end accounting operations, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure financial information is accurate, timely, comparable, and capable of influencing key business decisions.

For the right individual, this role offers a clear pathway to a future CFO position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day financial accounting operations and maintain full control of the general ledger
• Oversee the inventory system, including inventory costing and controls
• Lead treasury management
• Oversee daily supplier payments
• Develop and manage budgeting processes and periodic forecasts
• Provide financial insights, strategic advice, and recommendations to the Director
• Perform three-way financial modelling, forecasting, and profit & loss analysis
• Oversee payroll and statutory compliance (BAS, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, STP reporting)
• Manage cash flow forecasting, performance analysis, and budget reviews
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
• Prepare monthly management accounts and board-level reporting
• Manage the external audit process where applicable
• Liaise with external accountants on annual financial statements, tax returns, and technical matters
• Conduct competitor and margin analysis to inform pricing and purchasing decisions
• Lead ongoing cost review and optimisation initiatives
• Maintain and oversee the contract register

Experience & Attributes:

• Experience as a Financial Controller/Finance Manager within an e-commerce environment
• CA or CPA qualified
• Strong knowledge of Xero and inventory systems
• Advanced analytical capability with strong financial modelling skills
• Commercially minded with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• High energy, strong work ethic, and a hands-on approach
