The Opportunity:
 

This well-established and highly respected accounting firm is known for its professionalism, strong client relationships, and commitment to quality work. With continued growth in their SMSF division, they’re now seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to join their team and support an SMSF Manager.

This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys going beyond compliance, enjoys client interaction, and systemised processes. 


About The Role: 

You will administer and help manage a portfolio of funds (approx. 400) made up of both accumulation and pension funds. Duties include: 
  • Review compliance documents, including financial statements and tax returns
  • Allocate work and manage the workflow of junior accountants and offshore teams
  • Ensure all jobs are completed accurately, meeting technical standards and deadlines
  • Manage a portfolio of SMSF clients and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure clients understand and meet their SMSF compliance obligations
  • Provide general guidance on fund setup, pension phase transitions, and property acquisitions within funds
  • Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders to finalise compliance and reporting requirements

Your Experience: 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with self-managed super funds in an Australian accounting firm
  • Tax accountants with SMSF experience who are keen to specialise in SMSF accounting are encouraged to apply
  • Strong understanding of SMSF compliance, accounting, and taxation requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple funds and deadlines effectively
