About the Role

As an Assistant Manager – Tax & Business Advisory, you’ll take on a leadership role within the team, overseeing a portfolio of diverse clients and mentoring junior staff. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-level tax and business advisory services, managing client relationships, and contributing to the development of the firm’s strategic direction.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior-level accountant ready to step into management, offering clear pathways to further leadership and partnership opportunities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of industries including private clients, SMEs, family businesses, and professional services.

  • Provide strategic tax advice, commercial insights, and business planning support.

  • Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns, financial statements, and compliance work.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, maintaining and growing long-term client relationships.

  • Mentor and review the work of junior and intermediate staff, supporting their development.

  • Contribute to internal process improvements and team efficiency.

  • Stay across industry and legislative changes, providing timely updates and strategic direction to clients and colleagues.


What You’ll Bring

  • CA or CPA qualified, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in tax and business advisory.

  • Proven ability to manage and grow a diverse client portfolio.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team mentoring experience.

  • Deep understanding of Australian tax law, compliance obligations, and commercial advisory.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-first mindset.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and relevant practice management tools.
