The Opportunity

Our client is a highly regarded boutique accounting and advisory firm seeking an experienced Senior Manager or Associate Director to join their leadership team. This is a genuine succession opportunity with a clear pathway to Equity Partnership within 2–3 years (or potentially sooner) for the right individual.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a substantial client portfolio, lead and mentor a high-performing team, and play a key role in the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of medical professionals, high-net-worth individuals, automotive groups, and SME clients.
  • Deliver high-level tax planning, business advisory, and strategic consulting services.
  • Review complex compliance work across Business Services and SMSF engagements.
  • Lead client meetings and become a trusted advisor to key clients.
  • Mentor, train, and develop accounting staff.
  • Manage workflow, resource planning, and team performance.
  • Work closely with the Partners on practice growth initiatives and succession planning.
Client Portfolio
  • Majority medical and healthcare professionals.
  • Significant automotive dealership clients, including large multi-entity groups.
  • SME businesses across a range of industries.
  • High-net-worth individuals and family groups.
  • Approximately 45 SMSFs requiring review oversight.
The Team
You will work closely with an established leadership team and oversee a dedicated team consisting of:
  • 3 Accountants
  • 1 Bookkeeper
  • 1 Administration Officer
The firm promotes a collaborative environment where senior staff remain hands-on and accessible, providing strong support and mentoring across all levels.

Ideal Candidate
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Proven experience in a Senior Manager or Associate Director capacity within public practice.
  • Strong technical tax and business advisory skills.
  • Experience reviewing SMSF compliance work.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Aspirations towards practice ownership and partnership highly regarded, although not essential.
Salary
Competitive remuneration package negotiable based on experience, with a clear pathway to future equity participation.
