Our client, a well-established mid-sized Chartered Accounting firm in Brisbane, is seeking a Client Manager to join their growing advisory division. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a Tax & Business Services background who wants to broaden their skillset into commercial accounting and Virtual CFO services.
Working closely with a Director, you’ll manage a portfolio of SME clients while developing hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cash flow planning, and strategic business advice.
This is not a bookkeeping role. It is a career-development opportunity for someone who enjoys client relationships and wants to move beyond compliance into value-add advisory work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of SME clients ($1M–$10M turnover) across various industries
- Prepare and review tax returns and financial statements
- Support delivery of advisory and Virtual CFO services including budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and cash flow management
- Assist clients with commercial insights to improve performance and profitability
- Utilise Xero, Fathom, and Spotlight for reporting and analysis
- Work closely with a Director on strategic client matters
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand services
About You:
- CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
- 6+ years’ public practice experience in Tax & Business Services
- Strong compliance and financial statement experience
- Keen to transition into advisory, commercial accounting, and Virtual CFO work
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
- Proficient in Xero; exposure to Fathom or Spotlight advantageous but not essential
